Sad People

April 27th, 2015

I have for awhile I listened to a someone brag about how she used to teach Sunday School at the church her daddy preached at, and how she had men sit under her teaching. 4 weeks ago she let it out that her husband had left her at her request because he will never change.
She asked me what I thought about her teaching and I told her scripturally  for me it was wrong to teach men. She asked me what I thought about divorce  and my response was for me divorce is not an option, I made a commitment to God and my Husband when I married and unless my husband is unfaithful I will honor that commitment, Long story short is I have to answer to God as for my actions. I told her my relationship with God is the mitigating factor in my relationship with my husband. I told her she would have to take it before the Lord and let Him guide her in her decision.
Well next she proceeded to justify her actions and her husband leaving her.
How sad people have become they justify their actions with they used to teach Sunday School and how their relatives are preachers and some how that seems to make everything okay for them to sin as they please. A relationship with God should not be a smorgasbord pick and choose do what we please.

Sorrow and Joy

October 23rd, 2014

The sorrow of the  loss of a loved one  slams head on with the Joy as they have as they arrive in heaven and we try to make sense of it all in our feeble minds and sorrow and tears flow for a time But God wraps His arms around us so tight in our sorrow and His Holy Spirit is our Comforter. He knows our every tear

Heaven, Holy Spirit, Joy, Sorrow

C.S Lewis or the Word of God

May 5th, 2014

There was guy that we had met that everything he said regarding God was quoting CS Lewis only.  The guy  and his whole life is centered around C. S. Lewis. Of course he has so many issues in his life and those around him because he can only offer hope thru CS Lewis. People seem to look else where when all we need is in God’s Word.

The Love of God

April 27th, 2014

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.

O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.

When years of time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men, who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

Truly Blessed

April 12th, 2014

We so enjoy living in East Tennessee and constantly stand in AWE of GOD and His creation. Our weekends are spent in the Great Smoky Mountains taking pictures and just sitting and soaking it all in.

Blessed, Blessed by an Awesome God, Smoky Mountains

I think of how far our country has strayed from what we were originally and how things were black and white. Then the gray kept creeping in and we lost sight of white and black aka right and wrong and we looked the other way on right and wrong and allowed wrong to be maybe okay and then it became acceptable because we turned our heads and did not want to stand up for right or wrong and we allowed gray to  become the new norm. Now we have gotten so confused about what is black or white – right or wrong and we have become one messed up nation that used to One Nation Under God and now we are a nation that does not know God all because of gray.

Zimmerman and Martin

July 14th, 2013
I do not know what really happened between Zimmerman and Martin I am sure none of us ever will. I do not even have a good feeling about what I have read over the past few days regarding this trial. I do not have all the facts and never will. But I have to say I do not think the prosecutor was very good. Maybe if he was it would not have made a difference. I know I do not think much of what I read …about Zimmerman.  I am sure that the jury went with what facts and testimony they were given. There can always be an appeal hopefully from a better attorney and perhaps hopefully this will settle better all the way around. One would hope that here in the US it would be about justice and not about race no matter what. I was not brought up to look at race as an issue and I just do not understand the mentality of those that do. I know that people are hateful no matter of race. And I can only pray for the Martin family and the Zimmerman’s. Because I know without a doubt that  our justice system fails and it does and will continue  to do so , but I know also without a doubt that God is just and loving and He is all forgiving  and He is the only way justice systems and hearts and anger and hate and killings can be fixed.

Evil is flourishing within the Church

April 12th, 2013

It is sad that some have used the church as a business or they are only in the church because it means a pay check.  There are plenty out there that simply preach on Sunday and collect a check but in their hearts they do not even know God. Church has become a business. People have made the Gospel of Christ a business.  And it has become a big business. Pastors have become more worried about their income than their relationship with Jesus Christ. God has been put on the back burner in the name of building the big church.
